Empire State Development
New York State’s Division of Minority- and Women-Owned Business Development (MWBD) helps minority and women’s business community access all the services offered by New York State.  Services include access to capital, bidding certification, procurement assistance and an informational newsletter.

Small Business Administration (SBA)

The SBA provides a wide range of customer focused programs that include financing, free business education, training and counseling, business plan development services, federal government contracting and more.  The SBA Express program provides financing of up to $2 million with a simplified bank application and a turn-around time of 36 hours.

Women’s Enterprise Development Center -- WEDC
WEDC is a micro enterprise development program that provides women with the training, tools and resources they need to achieve economic self sufficiency through small business development. WEDC is designated a women’s business center by the US Small Business Administration (SBA). 

WEDC offers the following programs and services:

  • Entrepreneurial recruitment and assessment
  • Entrepreneurial training
  • Like skills seminars
  • Mentoring opportunities
  • Post-training seminars
  • Access to capital workshops
  • Networking opportunities
