- The New York State Department of
Labor (NYSDOL) offers several services including a labor exchange, labor
market information and data on wage information, terms of labor contracts,
as examples.
- The New York State Division
for Minority and Womens Business Development (DMWBD) assists firms
owned by minority groups and women. DMWBD promotes enhanced business opportunities
for minorities and women, certification of minority and women owned businesses,
provide liaison between state agencies to comply with procurement goals and
EEO regulations. Assistance is offered through classes, seminars, workshops,
and conferences as well as referrals in the area of individual and long term
counseling, financial plan development, media and public relations, marketing
and bank financing.
- The Westchester
County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) is a partnership of business people,
employers and agencies working together to train and develop skilled workers.
The purpose of the WIB is to ensure that employers have access to a competitive
and well-trained pool of workers. The WIB also works to train and match displaced
workers.
